Fri 10/11 @ 7PM
For years, SPACES big annual benefit was a gala event at their gallery featuring food, drink, dancing, art and partygoers in costume, grouped around a theme. This year they’re changing things up.
They explain, “In the spirit of experimentation, SPACES has moved away from our traditional annual benefit model and we’re trying something totally new: This year’s event, End of Days, will be an immersive, artist-designed, unsettling exhibition experience that will transform our gallery space into 7 ‘rooms’ designed by artists Kristin Rogers & Pita Brooks, Zachary Smoker + Steve Smolinski, Joey Strunk, Kate Atherton, Cassie Harner, Ben Oblivion, and Susie Underwood, with a soundtrack by Matthew Gallagher.”
There’ll be a VIP preview party on Fri 10/11 honoring moCa Cleveland executive director Jill Snyder, and Phyllis Harris, executive director of the LGBT Community Center. Tickets are $100 which includes hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, live music, the chance to purchase special 12 x 12 inch art works and yes, it’s a costume party so dress creatively.
Then the exhibit will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Sat 11/2, plus Halloween, so you can get that costume thing in again.
