Nonprofit Roots of American Music Hosts Benefit at Beachland

The Cleveland Heights-based nonprofit Roots of American Music (ROAM) was formed in 1999 to use traditional American music, such as bluegrass, gospel, blues and folk, as a tool to teach about other subjects including math, science, reading, history and civics. Local professional musicians work with underserved students, seniors, and the disabled, and puts on public programs as well.

To fund its work, ROAM is hosting a benefit at taking place at the Beachland Ballroom. It features music from Charlie Mosbrook, Kate Kooser, Bethany Joy, Dan Socha and Jack DiAlesandro, followed by the All Night Soul Review, hosted by DJ The Concrete Cowboy @ 9:45. Admission is free and no reservations are necessary. Tickets to the VIP reception @ 6pm are $150.
