Music for Miles Concert at Waterloo Arts Includes a Salute to the Founding of the U.S. Navy

Sun 10/13 @ 4PM

The family-friendly Music for Miles concerts at Waterloo Arts presents the Silver Keys, a quartet consisting of bass clarinetist Bill Meyer, and clarinetists Emily Lada, Alix Reinhardt, and Lindsay Wile.

The group has put together a program of music to honor some notable days in October, ranging from the biggie, Halloween, to those odd “National Whatever” days you only know about if it’s something you’re really into (National Animal Day was October 4).

They’ll also offer a special tribute to the birth of the U.S. Navy, October 13, 1775, when it was founded to intercept British transport ships. In its honor, they’ll play “The Navy Hymn” and “Anchors Aweigh,” premiering a special arrangement by Lake County composer Marjorie Rutherford. They will even hand out free Navy flags!

The concert is casual. You can come in and leave, take a restless child outside, or get a glass of wine and chat with the musicians during intermission.  Music for Miles concerts are free and open to all.
