Sat 9/28-Sun 10/27
Sure, the Halloween overkill can be annoying, all those giant pop-up stores that spring up in empty storefronts in late August, the racks of princess costumes in TJ Maxx after school has barely started.
But there are some fun things about the season, and harvest/pumpkin festivals are one of them. Pumpkin Pandemonium is taking place at Peninsula’s Heritage Farms, starting Sat 9/28 and running five days a week through Sun 10/27, with limited activities on Wednesday-Friday @ 2-6pm and all sorts of fun Saturday and Sunday @ 10am-5pm.
There’s a pumpkin maze and scavenger hunt (both operating five days a week) with hayrides, pumpkin rolling, a coloring wall, a straw tunnel, live music, fairy visits and more on the weekends. You can shop for pumpkins of all sizes, straw bales and corn stalks to decorate your own premises in autumnal glory. And there’s food for sale all five days.
Entrance into pumpkin yard and concessions is free; activities are $9; hayrides are $4. Family and group rates are available.
