Willoughby’s Blue Lake Botanicals Offers Classes in Herbal Crafts & Uses

Sat 3/23 @ 6-8PM

If you’ve been to area handmade markets and bazaars in the past several years, chances are good you’ve come across the skin care products made by Blue Lake Botanicals. Their salves for damaged skin (such as their outstanding plantain bug bite balm) and all-natural insect repellent sprays are more effective— and healthier — than pretty much anything at your local chain drugstore. Their serums, oils, scrubs and body whips offer an array of fresh garden-y smells, and their teas come in a variety of distinctive blends.

They now have an actual permanent location in downtown Willoughby, which allows them to schedule regular classes to teach you more about how to use herbs to be healthier and how to use them to make your own products.

On Sat 3/23 from 1-3pm Jo Feterle of Red Sky Apiary in West Salem will demonstrate how to make herb-infused honeys that taste great and are good for you. The $2o class fee includes a honey sample to take home.

Future classes include making herbal drinks (Sat 3/30), using herbs to relieve stress and anxiety (Tue 4/9) and building an herbal first aid kit (Sat 4/27).

You can stop in the store to register, call 440-525-5884 or email bluelakebotanicals@gmail.com.
