Wade Oval Wednesdays Start the Summer with Some Smooth Jazz

Wed 6/17 @ 5:30-8:30PM

One of Cleveland’s most magical summer concert series kicks off this week, when Wade Oval Wednesday hosts its first concert. As the headliner, the area’s city councilman Kevin Conwell, will be taking his place behind the drum kit when his band Councilman Conwell and the Footprints spreads the relaxing sounds of smooth jazz over the lawn, blending soul and funk into a jazzy foundation. Lay back on your blanket, get up to dance or grab a hula hoop and shimmy: the roaming entertaining tonight is Hula Hoops with Gerri. The evening opens at 5:30pm with Line Dance Is My Therapy — line dancing is always a hit with the WOW crowd.

As usual, there’s a host of vendors, offering everything from BBQ to vegan eats to Asian food, as well as treats such as popcorn, ice cream and lemonade. And you’ll find information and activity tables from sponsoring organizations. Wade Oval Wednesdays are free and family-friendly. They run through August 19; get a full schedule here.
