The Music Settlement Celebrates Lithuanian Culture With Music and More

Sun 2/24 @ 3PM

The Music Settlement honors the 100th anniversary of the Republican of Lithuania’s Independence Day (1918) and Cleveland’s own large Lithuanian community with a special Sunday afternoon program designed to focus on the country’s cultural contributions.

Presenting the program is Lithuania’s Duo Zubovas, formed in 1977 and featuring pianists Sonata Deveikyte and Rokas Zubovas. Čiurlionis – In Pursuit of Soundscapes spotlights the work of Lithuanian cultural hero Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis (1875-1911), who was a painter, writer and composer. The program will include performances of his music, along with discussion of his other work. It will be followed by a coffee reception that includes traditional Lithuanian foods.

It takes place at TMS’ Glick Recital Hall. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for kids. Seating is limited so buy your tickets here.
