Are you fed up and disgusted that Ohio’s state legislature is spending more time and effort on trying to control women’s reproductive choices than on figuring out how to fund quality schools and provide adequate health care for all those babies they want to force women to have? Angry at the 21 restrictions on a woman’s right to choose that were signed into law by former governor John Kasich?
You’re not alone. Despite the attempt of lawmakers in Ohio and across the country to snatch funding away from Planned Parenthood, the legacy organization that provides quality reproductive health care to all sorts of people and does more to slash abortions by preventing unwanted pregnancies that any anti-choice group, has enjoyed an outpouring of support — because it delivers what woman (and non-women too!) need.
Planned Parenthood Action Advocates of Ohio is PP’s political advocacy wing, the one that sends representative as to Columbus to try to reason with state legislators. Want to know more and learn what you can do to have their back in their efforts? The Planned Parenthood Action Forum at the Happy Dog will share real steps you can take.
They’ll be listening to what reproductive priorities you and your community have, talking about what’s going on to limit women’s rights both nationally and in Ohio and leaning about effective ways to fight back.
You must be a member of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund to attend, but that’s no big deal: just go online and share some basic information with them. You’ll get updates about what is going on and opportunities to volunteer.
