Falling Stars isn’t a well-known name in the local music scene yet, but trust me, you’ll know the players. They include the founders — singer/songwriter/guitarist Chris Allen, of many projects as well as his own solo work, and his former Rosavelt bandmate, songwriter/guitarist Tim Parnin, who has also played with Cobra Verde and Sweet Apple. The duo co-wrote the songs for this new project..
They’re rounded out by Dave Padrutt on bass and Gerry Porter on drums. The band’s debut album, 2017’s Stranded in the Future, was helmed by two big names from the ’80s college/alternative rock scene. It engineered by Mitch Easter in his North Carolina studio and produced by native North Carolinian Don Dixon, who has lived in NE Ohio (Canton) for several decades.
The group will headline a show at the Beachland Ballroom with local folk-rock favorites Maura Rogers & the Bellows opening. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
