Blank Canvas Theatre Mounts Musical “Side Show,” the Story of Conjoined Twins

Fri 4/13-Sat 4/28

Blank Canvas founder Patrick Ciamacco directs the small theater’s next production, the musical Side Show. The 1997 musical is based on the true story of British conjoined twins Violet and Daisy Hilton who were exhibited first in Europe and then during the 20s and 30s at sideshows, and vaudeville and burlesque theaters in the U.S. They trained as musicians and appeared in the 1932 film Freaks.

While the show’s original run on Broadway was brief, it became popular with regional and community theater and was revived on Broadway in 2014-2015 with new songs and a reworked plot that looks more deeply into twins’ personal lives.

The show runs Thursdays through Saturdays @ 8pm and Sundays @ 7pm through Sun 4/28. Tickets are $18.
