As part of its 40th anniversary, SPACES is having a series of ”tiny hall” concerts called (p)SPACE.
This week, composer/Oberlin professor Peter V. Swendsen takes his cue from Julia Christensen’s Waiting for a Break, time-lapse videos of ice formations on Lake Erie, currently on view at the gallery. He’ll accompany them with a collage of electroacoustic music called “The Sounds of Ice” which includes both field recordings and his own compositions including pieces from his 2014 CD Allusions to Seasons and Weather. Percussionist Justin Gunter and violist Corey Worley will join him.
