Guitarist/vocalist/songwriter/arranger Camila Meza arrived in New York City from her native Santiago, Chile nearly a decade ago. She graduated from the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in 2012 and paid her dues in the city’s bustling jazz scene, adding her pop and South American folk sensibilities to her music.
Her latest album, Traces, on New York’s Sunnyside label, was released in 2016, and showcases her ability to blend diverse musical influences both in her tunes and in her performances. There are three chances to check her out in northeast Ohio: at Nighttown Thursday night, the BOP STOP Friday night and Akron’s Blu Jazz + on Saturday. She’ll be performing with Cleveland musicians Michael Orenstein on piano, Kip Reed on bass and Anthony Taddeo on drums and percussion.
Tickets for each show are $15.
