Sun 6/26 @ noon
Looking to reconnect with your Slovenian heritage or just want to sample a key piece of Cleveland ethnic history? The SNPJ Farm in Kirtland, founded in 1939, hosts dances, dinners and special events, including a summer-long series of polka dances on Sundays.
Polka king Frankie Yankovic played its first picnic back in 1939, and today, other musicians are carrying on his ebullient, dance floor-filling tradition. This week Joe Novak & friends will provide the music for the Beaverdale/Dunlo reunion, an invitation for those raised in these south-central Pennsylvania communities (but all are welcome!)
Gates open at noon; dinners are available starting at 2; the band takes the stage — and the crowd takes to the dance floor — from 3-7pm. Check out the full schedule of polka bands and special events here.
