England’s Orlando Consort has been thrilling audiences around the world for nearly three decades with a centuries-spanning repertoire of vocal pieces that reaches back to the middle ages and looks forward to the future with world premieres of contemporary pieces and collaborations with jazz and world music ensembles.
They’re also known for their improvisational skill, as shown in their ability to adapt early 15th century music to accompany the screening of the classic 1928 French silent film, La Passion de Jeanne d’Arc, by Carl Theodor Dreyer, which is set in the 15th century. They’ll be doing so at the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Gartner Auditorium. Tickets are $33-$45.
