Everything is going swimmingly for the local teenage brother duo known as Archie & the Bunkers. Even though they’ve only been playing out for a couple of years, they’ve been slotted at all the area’s best rock and roll clubs. With Emmett on drums and vocals and Cullen on organ and vocals, the twosome have made a lot of fans playing their multi-dimensional retro garage rock, or as they call it, “Hi-fi organ punk.”
Last year, they snagged a deal with London-based Dirty Water Records and released their debut album. They’ve played around the country from Columbus to Las Vegas. Not bad for a couple of teens.
But wait — it gets even better! After a couple of regional dates in Chicago and Detroit, they depart for Europe in mid-April where they’ll play a month-long series of dates in France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain. All this before they’re done with high school! (Don’t worry about their education — they’re home-schooled). Before they go though, they’ll be playing a send-off show at the Beachland Tavern. Samfox opens, and there’ll be an afterparty with music by DJs Alr!ght and Mr. Fishtruck. Admission is $8.
