This week, the Cleveland Orchestra spotlights yet another talented young soloist, 33-year-old French cellist Gautier Capuçon(pictured). This versatile rising musician launched his career in the late ’90s on a series in international competition prizes, and he’s is comfortable in both orchestral and chamber music settings.

He’ll be featured, appropriately, on a program of all-French music. He’ll be playing Camille Saint-Saëns’s Cello Concerto No. 1. The program also includes a real crowd-pleaser, one that’s well-known even to non-classical audiences, Maurice Ravel’s Boléro. It’s rounded out with Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin and, at the Thursday and Saturday concerts, early 20th-century composer Florent Schmitt’s La Tragédie de Salomé.

The conductor for the program is also French and even younger than Capuçon — 28-year-old Lionel Bringuier, who is also a cellist and, like Capuçon, also a gifted pianist.

Tickets are $29-$149.
