Out of thousands of entries, ten were chosen. Be inspired at the 2014 Stop the Hate Awards Ceremony @ Severance Hall. Hear juniors and seniors read their entries as they compete to win a $40,000 scholarship award.
For the contest, students were asked to write a ~500 word about:
- A time they witnessed an act of discrimination or hate toward themselves or someone else
- If they responded, why did they decide to stand up? How can they encourage their peers to do the same?
- If they didn’t respond, why not and what changes might they make to their behavior next time?
Plus, hear Stop the Hate: Youth Sing Out and the three finalists from grades 6 – 10.
