Nearly two years in the making, Brian Ruthsatz opened his Rood Food & Pie in Lakewood’s west end in November 2018. The “Miami-style” café with its in-house bakery offers a menu of “build your own” slider plates, including several vegetarian/vegan choices. A small list of wines, cocktails and craft beers accompanies it. Pies such as orange sage pumpkin, brown butter rosemary apple (vegan) and baklava are available by the slice or can be ordered whole to take home.
