Hudson is a residential community located between Cleveland and Akron with tree-lined streets and brick buildings that give it a historical small-town feel. The city strives to maintain that mainstreet aura, even as new developments and shopping plazas have sprung up. It’s home to dozens of local businesses that provide unique services, including distinctive shopping and high-quality restaurants owned by some of the best area chefs.
Community members take support of their city seriously. In 2002, Hudson was the first city in the country to launch a citywide electronic gift card that recipients could use only in town to keep shopping dollars with the town’s independent merchants. Shortly after, volunteers started the Hudson Farmers Market, which takes place every Saturday just below the landmark clock tower downtown where local farmers sell goods directly to the community.
Special events like Art on the Green, Taste of Hudson and the Western Reserve Academy Festival bring visitors from all over to enjoy both contemporary amenities and a nostalgic environment.
