Forage Public House was a new addition to Lakewood’s bustling gastropub scene when it opened in late 2014. But the chef/owner was already familiar to local diners. Demetrios Atheneos was the opening chef at Deagan’s Kitchen two blocks away from new place.
Atheneos and his crew construct their accessible but creative menu from seasonal, sustainable ingredients that are locally sourced whenever possibly. The menu tells you where everything’s from. Vegan Thursdays feature specials such as lentil & foraged morel mushroom soup and tumeric tapioca noodles with vegetables form Chef’s Garden in Huron. The drink menu offers a selection of imported and domestic beers, wines, meads and cocktails, with an especially abundant list of whiskeys, bourbons and scotches.
