Der Braumeister

With the groaning tables of the Hofbrauhaus long gone, Der Braumeister in the West Park neighborhood is the place to go for heavy, hearty German food. With its murals of Germanic scenes and dark wood, this even looks like a place where the food sticks to your ribs. Schnitzel, sauerbraten, bratwurst, and other German dishes dominate, augmented by other Eastern European favorites like Hungarian goulash and Chicken Paprikash. There are a surprising number of vegetarian-friendly choices, especially among the sides and salads: beet salad, potato pancakes, and a vegetable ratatouille.
