Mushrooms are fascinating little fungi. They come in thousands of varieties with a huge range of shapes, sizes and colors. Many are edible delicacies, others are lethal poisons, some have medicinal potential, and still others offer a hallucinogenic trip to a fantasy world.
Join a naturalist from Summit Metro Parks on Zoom for a program on “The Mystery of Mushrooms.” They’ll share the different between boletes, polypores and gilled mushrooms and offer an overview of the types found in local parks and wild lands. They say, “There will be no discussion on edibility.” But a good piece of advice is do’t collect your own — go with an expert!
