Once again Micro Theater CLE, a free pop-up festival of diverse short performances, returns to Tremont for Micro Theater: Tremont Reloaded.
More than 180 performances of 32 original productions by local creators will take place in small spaces around the neighborhood including bars, private backyards, alleys, living rooms, and even a bridge where a Butoh performance will take place. There’ll be short plays, tango, stand-up comedy, improv, live music, and more. All performances are 15 minutes or less.
Performances repeat multiple times over the evening. Audience members check in at the corner of West 10th and Starkweather, and reserve a certain route with spaces between performances to grab a drink and socialize.
They explain, “Because a lot of these spaces are really very micro, we’re asking everyone to reserve a spot on one of our tracks. Each track is a hand-picked route through the festival, with options for maximum comedy, maximum movement, maximum weirdness, less walking, fewer stars a later start, or getting home at a reasonable hour. Pick your night, choose the one that sounds like you and we’ll take you there.”
