The Black Squirrel Winds, a quintet featuring four Kent State University music faculty members and one ringer, takes its name from the ebony animals that have become sort of the unofficial mascot of the city of Kent. Oboist Danna Sundet, flutist Diane McCloskey, horn player Kent Larmee and clarinetist Amitai Vardi all teach at KSU while bassoon player Mark DeMio is a freelance musician and teacher.
The ensemble will perform at Christ Church Hudson, as part of Music from the Western Reserve’s concert series. They’ll be joined for the performance by clarinetist Tiago Delgado and pianist Elizabeth DeMio. Tickets are $18.

Hello, I just wanted to let you know that there is some misinformation in your article. Mark DeMio is a faculty member; he is the bassoon professor. Diane McCloskey is the flute professor and Amitai Vardi is the clarinet professor (their names are spelled wrong). Thank you!
