Stan Hywet's Father's Day Car Show Expands, with 350 Vehicles and a Touch-a-Truck Experience

Sun 6/21 @ 9AM-3PM

The Father’s Day Car Show & Festival is a beloved tradition at Akron’s Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens: it’s been going on since 1957!

The show, hosted by the Ohio Regional Classic Car Club of America, offers the opportunity to gape in awe at more than 350 vintage, classic and specialty vehicles from across multiple eras. This year’s theme is “A Century of Mopar,” with a special focus on powerful muscle cars. Among the vehicles on view will be two noted muscle cars from Hollywood: the 1971 Plymouth ‘Cuda from the TV show Nash Bridges and the black 1973 Plymouth ‘Cuda from Furious 7.

But even if there are family members whose idea of a great car is one that’s good on gas and doesn’t break down, there’ll be plenty to see and do. The festival village will offer multiple food and drink options, live music performance, special exhibits, artisan demonstrations, and historical figures such as George Washington and Abraham Lincoln to meet and greet. And this year for the first time it will be offering something special for the kids: one of those Touch-a-Truck events that have grown explosively in popularity in the last few years, where kids can cozy up to, and even sit on, working vehicles such as police cars, dump trucks and excavators.
