Tue 11/11 @ 12:30-4PM
November 11is officially the federal holiday of Veterans Day. This is the day when you thank people for their service (not Memorial Day which is dedicated to war dead).
And if you’d like to celebrate veterans in Cleveland head downtown for the Cleveland Veterans Day Parade. Gather at Cleveland City hall and walk with them to Skylight Park in Tower City, which will be the site of the first-ever city-sponsored Veteran Day celebration.
The parade will start at Cleveland City Hall, 601 Lakeside Ave E, and will conclude at Skylight Park in Tower City, where the city will host its first-ever Veterans Day Celebration. More than 100 units from various branches of the military, different service years, both active and retired members of the military, will be marching along with bands, classic cars and military vehicles, sports teams and civic organizations.
“This new committee has accepted the challenge of taking this event to the next level, says 2025 parade committee chair Kenya Gray. “We’d love to see more participants, more people lining the streets, more partners spreading the word and contributing to make this a premier event in Cleveland because all of our veterans deserve this recognition.”
All are invited to the free celebration at Tower City which will feature live music, kids’ activities, giveaways and resources for veterans. It runs until 4pm.
