JD Eicher & the Goodnights Record Live Album at Jilly’s in Akron

Fri 11/14 @ 8PM

JD Eicher and the Goodnights come from that region that straddles the Ohio/Pennsylvania border where the Youngstown music scene connects to the Pittsburgh music scene and the whole thing has historically had little to do with northeast Ohio.

Singer/songwriter/guitarist Eicher and his band, who hail from both states, have been working hard to change that with numerous appearances “up north.” Luckily, their music travels well: it’s solid pop/rock with shapely melodies that make your heart race a little, earning comparisons lavish rockers like Coldplay, Keane and the Killers.

Having recently completely a series of three albums described by Eicher as a trilogy, The Shape of Things, Shifting, and Into Place, the group is embarking on a project to capture its live sound.

They’ll be recording a special show at Jilly’s Music Room in downtown Akron with Nashville-based Charlie Oxford opening. Tickets are $15 which include a free download of the live EP before its official release.
