The Old Brooklyn Art Walk is an annual event that aims to draw attention to one of the city’s newer arts-friendly neighborhoods. It now has two dedicated art galleries, Pinwheel Gallery and Logo Creative Studio, that exhibit art on a regular basis, and both have openings during the August art walk.
But many other businesses in the art also have art on view, or special events happening with a dozen other venues planning art-related events.
Miscreant and the Muse is hosting a printing party, and the well-established Buckland Museum of Witchcraft and Magick is having a closing reception for their featured exhibits, as well as “A Night of Meditations on Cosmic Sound,” with Witchbeam and Brian Paul Barr. Ben Frankin Community Gardens, the largest community garden in the city, is having a mini art fair featuring some of their gardeners who are also artists; they’ll have live music as well, something they do all summer.
Participating venues will be giving away mini-prints with a design specific to their location and walkers can try to collect them all by visiting as many locations as possible. Each will also have a piece of a mural they can help paint, with the pieces to be assembled for display on Broadview Road during Old Brooklyn Streetfest October 10.
