Fri 7/3 @ 8PM
Maybe you have big, noisy plans for the 4th, but want something fairly chill to do the night before. Head over to the Beachland Tavern and catch a handful of the area’s many talented musician/songwriters.
Topping the bill is the ubiquitous, shapeshifting Cleveland singer/songwriter/guitarist Ray Flanagan, who leads bands, performs solo and pitches in as a sideman on other people’s projects across the full spectrum of musical styles. In the post-pandemic years, he released two songs online on the first Friday of the month, building an impressive catalog of material for listeners to peruse. Then this spring, he released his first full-length vinyl album My Mind Is Burning Up.
The trio Shortt Stories is fronted by Northeast Ohio songwriter Rachel Shortt who writes affectingly of the challenges we all face, while her band provides strong instrumental and vocal support. They’ll be joined by Beach City Postal Service, a folk-rock band from Stark Cunty (Canton area). Ed Bridge will provide the opening set.
