Do you really miss the 80s? I don’t. every time I look at a photo of one of those ridiculously over-teased, over sprayed, way-too-busy hairdos, I’m grateful my hair has no body and could never do that. Did I wear leg warmers and rip the neck out of my sweatshirts though? Yes.
But if YOU want to celebrate the neon-colored, MTV-influenced 80s, come on down to the Akron Art Museum for their Circa 80s party and go to town. They’ll be spinning all those 80s one-hit wonders (“Mickie!” “Safety Dance!” “Walking On Sunshine!”) so you can dance like it’s 1985. You can play some retro video games or come to the crafts area and make some glittery buttons, screenprints and fanny packs. And if your hair DOES do that big, inflated thing, there’s going to be a big hair contest. There’ll also be an ’80s fashion contest — channel an ’80s icon or come up with your own style. There’ll be prizes!
