We’re taking it to the extreme, with murals popping up everywhere, a crash course in collecting royalties for your music, a new direction for artist John Saile, a conversation about art at Hedge, a Dog Bowl at Put-In-Bay, and a Grateful Dead-inspired festival in Kent.

We have fresh water aplenty, but some people have to walk 4 miles for it, so the 4 Miles 4 Water jog/run helps raise some money. Joe Hennes brings Muppet Magic, Coventry hosts Kids Day, the Music Box hosts Carlos Jones, Slow Roll Cleveland rolls through Shaker Buckeye, and Akron Pride’s Drag Battle crowns the 2026 Drag Act of the Year. That’s extra sweet.

COUNTRIFIED LOCAL BAND RELEASES NEW ALBUM

Guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Lea Marra has been writing songs and performing since before she was in high school, influenced by artists such as Dolly Parton, the Cranberries and the Dixie Chicks. But over the last decade she’s built up a local following performing with bands, including her current ensemble The River Boys, whose sound draws even more heavily on classic country.

In 2024, Lee Marra and the River Boys released Ace of Cups with a show at the Beachland Tavern. They’ll return there this week on Friday May 29 to debut their second album—Marra’s fourth. They’ll be joined by Cory Grinder & the Playboy Scouts, another red-hot NEO band who play original country-influenced music. It’ll be a rollicking rootsy kind of night.
