Warmth of the Sun

You can feel it, if you let yourself. Get warmed up for the Feast in August by enjoying the 100th Italian Festival at Gordon Square’s Our Lady of Mount Carmel. BorderLight is smoking hot with 120 avant theatre performances over 4 days around PHS. LoConti kicks off weekly shows burning bright on the Rock Hall’s plaza. Of the 1700 submissions, 66 local artists are featured at the juried Lake Effect show at CMA’s tiny Transformer Station; just don’t call it a warmed over May Show. Mean Girls lights up Beck Center, Women In Metal ignites the Rock Hall, and The Scarlet Letter silent film glows with live music.

CoolCleveland travel columnist Claudia Taller connects travel, study and the art experience: “Art requires we study the artists behind the work and the trajectory of their artistic journey.” The same goes for our shows this Sat 7/11 at the Akron Civic and next Thu 7/16 at the Music Box on the origin story of David Bowie’s international stardom, which began right here in Northeast Ohio, with Billy Bass and Anastasia Pantsios, both of whom will appear in person, along with performances by cool bands like Cowboy Princess Brigade, Time Cat and Mourning [A] BLKstar, hosted by Vanity Crash. Is it getting warm in here?
