It’s one thing. And then another. No Exit New Music moves forward, inspired by Cleveland School artists. Lakewood Public Library honors Japanese Americans with Japanese dancing and (very loud) Taiko drumming. XCSB DJs host a vinyl night at Little Rose Tavern. The CBG lets you view (and buy) orchids. Art House throws a chili cook-off. Happy Dog Takes On the war in Iran. Yards Project showcases street-style artists. WRHS shows Welcome To Collinwood. The Rock Hall screens a film on all-woman band Fanny.
And then the women of NEO rocked. Starting way back in the 50’s and 60’s, women rockers from our region have topped the charts and hit artistic highs. We honor these artists like Tracy Chapman, Chrissie Hynde, Ruby & the Romantics, The Waitresses and others by showcasing seven area women-led artists and bands performing an historic cover plus a couple of their own originals. Because we need to hear their voices now. this Fri 3/13 at the Akron Civic and next Thu 3/19 at the Music Box.
