Monday October 6 Is the Registration Deadline for November Election

Mon 10/6

It’s that time again: check your voter registration and be sure that you are ready to vote in the general election on Tuesday November 4. Yes, we know there are no sexy, high-stakes elections happening in odd-numbered years. But many cities in northeast Ohio, including Cleveland, are electing mayors and city councils, and these election are important too — and often have a more direct impact on your life. So don’t just complain — weigh in at the polls.

Monday October 6 is the final day to register. Yes, Ohio is one of the states with the longest gap between the close of registration and Election Day—anything to make voting more challenging! Early voting starts the next day, October 7, so you can head down to the Board of Elections (in Cuyahoga, it’s now at East 18th and Superior in the former Plain Dealer building, with a spacious free parking lot off East 18th street) and get that ballot banked.
