Celebrate Pickles and Volunteerism at Downtown Cleveland Picklefest

Celebrate Pickles and Volunteerism at Downtown Cleveland Picklefest

Sat 9/20 @ 11AM-6PM

If you’re one of those people who fondly remember the pickles on the tables at Corky & Lenny’s, then you will definitely want to be down on Mall C when Picklefest opens its doors.

Of course, there are pickles, from local and regional companies, pickle-flavored beer and pickle-flavored desserts (which frankly sound as unappealing as the garlic ice cream at the Garlic Fest but you may see things differently.). There are also drinks, candy and what they call “other fun food.” You can also pick up pickle-themed merchandise from non-food vendors.

The event also features entertainment: the requisite live music but also a pickle-eating contest with both youth (under 12) and adult divisions. And new this year is the Pickle Pup Pageant and yes, that means dress up your dog as a pickle. Good thing most dogs are so chill and obliging! One dog will win the title of Pickle Prince or Princess, chosen by crowd response, and win dog treats.

The event is a benefit for the nonprofit Greater Cleveland Volunteers, and all proceeds will go to benefit their work, matching volunteers with those who need them. More info and tickets here.
