Guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Guy Snowdon relocated Cleveland from Birmingham, England in 2016, bringing with him an armful of British influences including the Beatles, ELO and Queen, as well as influences from American blues and soul. Once settled, he formed his band Guy Snowdon & the Citizens, which debuted at the Beachland in the fall of 2019.
Since then the band, which also includes guitarist Greg Hido, drummer Matthew Schieferstein and backing vocalist Tanisha Salary has been busy. They’ve released several singles, a live EP, their debut full-length album titled One, in 2021, and the follow-up Two in spring 2024. They’ve played regional dates in Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania and Maryland, as well as Ohio, and they’re part of Cleveland Rocks: Past Present Future’s 2025 Incubator program.
Now the group has announced that they’ve signed with Atlanta-based independent record label Young Outlaw Music, founded by artist/producer Briana Richel and talent management specialist Christine Dolan. The label provides major label distribution the Universal Music Group as well as sync placement opportunities.
The label will be re-issuing three singles from their albums One and Two, as well as new material the band is currently working on.
