Seat of the Pants Theater Premieres New Play by Prolific Cleveland Playwright Eric Coble

Fri 6/12-Sun 6/29

Cleveland playwright Eric Coble is probably the most prolific and widely produced playwright living in this area, with more than 80 diverse works of all lengths and in all styles, for various situations and types of theaters, to his credit since the early 1990s.

His recent play, The First Snow of Summer, was workshopped by Cleveland’s Seat of the Pants Theatre in 2023. Now Seat of the Pants will be producing its world premiere at the Darl Center for the Arts in Slavic Village. It’s another of those “group of confined people forced to confront uncomfortable truths” pieces.

The synopsis tells us that “In the face of an oncoming natural disaster, a family gathers at their childhood home in the mountains of Colorado. As the clock ticks, old wounds open and new opportunities for connection arise, even as mysterious omens encroach from the surrounding woods. Amidst laughter, tears, and unexpected outbursts, the clan is forced to confront who and what is worth saving when the end draws near.”

The production was co-directed by Anne McEvoy and Craig Joseph, with a cast that includes Courtney Brown, Samantha Cocco, Jacki Dietz, Fabio Polanco, Juliette Regnier, and Neda Spears.

It runs Fridays and Saturdays @ 7:30pm and Sundays at 2:30pm, through June 29. Get tickets here.
