Even though 78th Street Studios will be mostly quiet and empty on Wednesday May 13, don’t be afraid to go down to the Ramp level and walk allllllllll the way to the back, to Understory Gallery where you’ll find some activity: the preview opening of a show titled Fuzzy Fields. It presents new work by two artists, Susan Snipes and Jamie Zimcheck.
“Susan and Jamie have never lived in the same city,” they share, “but they spent the past few months passing ideas back and forth across time and distance — a long, drifting correspondence that led to this exhibition. Two of the pieces are collaborative, bridging media and timelines in ways we won’t spoil here.”
They continue, “Both artists are working in the territory of not quite knowing—the haze around prehistoric marks, the moment of anticipation, meaning that refuses to resolve. Come stand in the fuzzy fields with us.”
Stop down. It’s free and there will be refreshments. The show will be on view through June 20.
