Korean-American pianist Chaeyoung Park was born in Korea but raised in Kansas from the age of ten. She is currently based in New York where she attended the Juilliard School for both her undergraduate and graduate education. She has been winning international piano competition since she was in her early teens, and was a prize winner in the 2015 Cleveland International Piano Competition Young Artists Competition when she was 16. Since then she’s kept up a packed schedule of orchestra dates and recitals all over the world.
This week she returns to Cleveland for a pair of shows. She’ll play for the Cleveland Museum of Art/Piano Cleveland Chamber Museum in the Atrium series, a free, informal, one-hour program in which the pianist plays a variety of pieces and talks about their background.
Then tomorrow at EDWINS in Cleveland Heights, Piano Cleveland presents Chaeyoung Park & Friends @ Edwins. She’ll play some of her favorite music, followed by the Andru Dennis Jazz Trio who’ll play some of their own music along with jazz and blues standards. Get their early and Piano Cleveland will buy you a drink. Reservations are required; go here.
