Midnight Syndicate Releases 15th Album as Their Spooky Music Returns to Cedar Point’s HalloWeekends

Cleveland duo Midnight Syndicate — Gavin Goszka and Edward Douglas — has found a special niche that has proved highly successful for them. For more than 20 years, they’ve been composing and recording eerie, macabre music that has been used at haunted attractions across the country. In 2021 Universal Orlando, where their music has provided the backdrop for their Halloween Horror Night, re-released Music of Halloween Horror Nights, a compilation of the duo’s tracks.

And Midnight Syndicate’s music has been the soundtrack of Cedar Point’s HalloWeekends since 1998. Their music proved so popular that they created multimedia shows to take their horror-themed sound to the next level, debuting their first show in 2014.

Now Midnight Syndicate has released their 15th studio album, titled The Brimstone Club, which they call “soundtracks to imaginary films,” using their usual blend of composed music and carefully chose sound effects.

“The album was inspired by the Parisian Cabaret de L’Enfer, a 19th century hell-themed cabaret that was a forerunner to the haunted attractions and themed restaurants and taverns of today,” says Douglas. “We hope people are able to listen to it at least once from start to finish in a quiet darkened room. There’s a lot in this world to explore in your mind’s eye.”

Midnight Syndicate’s music will again be part of Cedar Point’s HalloWeekends running from September 14-October 28.
