Future Ink Graphics Holds Community Activism Poster-Making Session

Printmaking and activism have long been entwined due to the ease of making multiples, which can be used as posters or flyers.

Cleveland’s Printing Democracy, based at Future Ink Graphics in the Pivot Center, picks up on the idea, holding workshops for he community in screenprinting and creating an installation with the posters.

Local artists and community members are invited to a drop-in session to contribute — no experience needed. Experienced artists such as FIG owner Stephanie Kluk and April Bleakney and Hannah Manocchio have already created posters inspired by a Young Latino Networks community forum which suggested four areas of activism: reproductive rights, trans rights, immigration and protecting democracy through voting access.

The session is free and no registration is required. Just bring your passion, In addition, since November 1 is Day of the Dead, people are invited to bring images for a Day of the Dead altar in the lobby.
