Lose the COVID Blues with Whiskey Daredevils at the Beachland Tavern

Thu 12/30 @ 8PM

Cleveland’s Whiskey Daredevils have been kicking up a rootsy musical storm for almost two decades as what they’ve dubbed “America’s finest country punkabilly band.” Founders Greg Miller (frontman/vocalist) and Leo P. Love (drummer) emerged from a band with a similar style and spirit, the Cowslingers, who’d been livening up the scene since 1990.

Today they’re joined by bassist Rebecca “Sugar” Wildman some years back and new guy, guitarist Hex Mattos, who came on board in early 2018, to execute their extensive (and surprisingly diverse) repertoire, collected over the course of a dozen albums, of both smart-alecky country punk and serious balladry infused with classic, honky-tonk country influences. Fans enjoy both their high-quality songwriting and their high-energy shows.

The band will be rocking out at the Beachland Tavern on Thursday December 30 to warm things up for New Year’s Eve. Assuming COVID doesn’t block the highway, Rochester, New York, sextet the Fox Sisters, whose roots are in old-school R&B, will open. Com and dance the blahs away. Admission is $12.
