Fri 9/24 @ 7PM

CityMusic Cleveland launches its 2021-22 season this week, which it’s dubbed its “Justice, Hope, Equality” season, with a performance taking place at the Shrine Church of St. Stanislaus in Slavic Village.

The opening concert will feature four pieces: George Gershwin’s “Lullaby,” Nadia Boulanger Three Pieces for Bass and Piano, Antonín Dvorák’s Piano Quintet in A Major, and the world premiere of Denise Ondishko’s of “A More Perfect Union: Reflections on American Equality, Justice and Hope,” which was commissioned by CityMusic Cleveland as part of its year-long series of featuring pieces by contemporary woman composers.

The concert will be performed by the Pantheon Ensemble: violinists Masha Andreini and Mari Sato, violist Yael Senamaud-Cohen, cellist Helen Hawersaat, bassist Tracy Rowell, and pianist Elizabeth DeMio. As usual, the concert is free; unlike last season, no RSVP is required. Masks are required.
