Another festival that went dark in 2020 returns: Akron PorchRokr, an all-day free event, which takes place at various locations in Highland Square Neighborhood.
This year they’re promising food, a beer garden, karaoke, vendors, a silent disco, a “kids zone,” nature-related activities courtesy of Summit Metro Parks, artists and of course music, including the headlining act: Akron’s own popular reggae band Umojah Nation who perform on the main stage at 8pm following a closing ceremony. Each one-hour time slot, starting at 11am, features more than a dozen acts so if you want to see any particular acts, you’re going to need a game plan. And there’s no dirth of new music to discover.
