New Ghosts, the Cleveland music presenter which focuses on cutting-edge improvisational and experimental musicians and ensembles, is bringing another such show to the BOP STOP this week.
The trio performing, considered a supergroup in this niche genre, is headed by alto sax player Dave Rempis and features two other players who are noted in this arena: vibraphonist Jason Adasiewicz and drummer Chris Corsano. Most musicians in this genre have laundry lists of collaborations a mile long, and these guys are no exception. They came together as Rempis/Adasiewicz/Corsano during a residency Rempis hosted in Chicago in September 2024; Rempis had worked with both in earlier configurations. But during that residency they felt a special spark and decided to continue as a trio, going on to record their first project Dial Up, released just recently.
The promotion says that “while all three command broad and unique palettes on their instruments, there’s never a feeling that technical dazzle takes the place of musicality. Every motion is in service to the evolution and development of the spontaneous sound they bring forth.”
They’re currently on tour in the U.S. with plans to hit Europe later this year. Get tickets to catch them now here. The concert will also be livestreamed on the BOP STOP’s YouTube channel.
