Tue 4/27 @ 5:30PM

The City Nature Challenge is an event you can take part in without any science background and without leaving your own backyard (or the park or vacant lot up the street if you don’t have a yard).

Created in 2016 by a couple of staff members of science museums in Los Angeles and San Francisco, the international event invites people to document plants and wildlife in cities around the world. Traditionally it’s been a competition to engage the most people and find and document the most species and specimens and , although the competitive aspects of it was dropped last year due to the pandemic. That included the usual contest between Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

Find out more about participating in the 2021 challenge, locally sponsored by the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, when CMNH offers a free Zoom orientation which will give you all the information you need to get involved in this community science project.
