Through Sun 11/15
Time capsules are a way of collecting a snapshot of a community at a certain point in time and preserving that history for posterity. They’re often buried in the cornerstone of new buildings as they go up.
The Willoughby Arts Collaborative will be sealing theirs in the former junior high school building in downtown Willoughby. But right now, they are soliciting items that depict the community of Willoughby in 2020. If you have something relating to Willoughby, you’re invited to draw or photograph it and drop it off at a collection site by Sunday November 15. In order to fit the capsule, it must by 11” x 8.5” or smaller. Please don’t use textured paint or anything else that would prevent your submission from lying flat or that might damage other pieces over time. You may also include a single page describing the submission or person who submitted it.
Submission sites include:
Fine Arts Association – 38660 Mentor Ave.
Stella’s Art Gallery – 38033 Euclid Ave.
ThenDesign Architecture – 4135 Erie St.,
Willoughby Public Library – 30 Public Square
Also, on Saturday November 14 @ 1-3pm, the Arts Collaborative is hosting a group sketch session at Point Park. Bring your art materials, wear a mask and join in the fun!
