Political Satirist Takes on the Trump Administration

Tue 7/14 @ 7PM

Author Christopher Buckley, son of legendary conservative columnist William F. Buckley Jr., has carved his own path as a political satirist, fueled by his observations working as a speechwriter for vice president George H.W. Bush in the 80s.

His political leanings veered sharply away from those of his father (which died in 2008). He very publicly endorsed Barack Obama, and his new book, out this week, is titled Make Russia Great Again. Given the title, his attitude toward the current administration needs no further explanation. It’s written as a fake memoir by Trump’s imaginary seventh chief of staff (in reality, there have been only four).

Buckley will take part in a virtual evening book event hosted by the Hudson Library, promoting his latest release. Copies will be available for purchase through Hudson’s Learned Owl Book Shop. Registration is required for the event. Go here.
