Afghan Women Bicycling for Social Change

Sun 3/8 @ 1:30pm

Bike Cleveland is celebrating International Women’s Day with a showing of Afghan Cycles — a documentary about a generation of Afghan women who are pedaling their own revolution, aggressively challenging gender and cultural barriers using the bicycle as a vehicle for freedom, empowerment and social change.

Watch Afghan Cycles on Sat 3/8 @ 1:30pm at the Capitol Theatre. Tickets are $12 and $10 for Bike Cleveland members.

The movie follows a generation of Aghan women cyclists, riding despite expectations, despite infrastructure, despite death threats, embracing the power and freedom.
