Long-Time “New Yorker” Cartoonist Keynotes Jewish Book Festival at Mandel JCC

Thu 11/7 @ 7:30PM

There’ll never be a shortage of material and guests for a Jewish literary event, such as the Mandel JCC’s 20th annual Cleveland Jewish Book Festival.

To keynote they event, they’re bringing in Esquire cartoon and humor editor Bob Mankoff — and there’ll never be a short of Jewish humor either. Mankoff will be talking about his latest book, Have I Got a Cartoon for You! The Moment Magazine Book of Jewish Cartoons. He’ll talk about his own path to becoming a successful cartoonist, including a 35-year stint as staff cartoonist at The New Yorker, and about how cartoons fit into the rich tradition of Jewish humor.

The speech takes place at the Mandel Jewish Community Center. Tickets are $25; $20 for JCC members. The Cleveland Jewish Book Festival runs from November 3-18. Find more information at mandeljcc.org/bookfest.
